What is a virtual gift registry?

In short

Virtual gift registry

A virtual gift registry—in Peru, a mesa de regalos virtual—is an online gift list: guests open it from a link and give a gift or chip in money from their phone, instead of bringing a package or an envelope to the party. It works for weddings, baby showers, birthdays and any celebration.

It’s the digital version of the classic gift table. Instead of a store counter or a box at the reception, there’s a link shared on WhatsApp or through a QR code on the invitation.

What changes compared with an envelope at the party:

  • Guests can give before the day, and those who can’t attend can still take part.
  • Nobody has to carry cash, and there’s no box of money making the rounds at the venue.
  • Every gift comes with a name, so thanking people stops being a memory test.

With parati, the registry can live inside the invitation or on its own, if your invitation was made elsewhere. Guests pay by card or Yape without signing up, and parati holds each guest’s gift until it’s deposited into your Peruvian bank account (CCI) when you request a payout. Setting it up is free: parati charges a fee on gifts, and you choose whether your guest or you cover it.
