What does RSVP mean on an invitation?
In short
RSVP
RSVP stands for “répondez s'il vous plaît”, French for “please reply”: on an invitation, it asks you to confirm whether you'll attend. In Spanish it's called confirmación de asistencia, and it usually comes with a deadline to reply.

Hosts need it to give the venue and the caterer a final head count, plan the tables and know how many plus-ones are coming. That’s why the deadline is set a few weeks before the venue asks for that number.
To reply well:
- Reply even if you can’t go. A timely “no” helps as much as a “yes”.
- Respect the deadline. After it, the numbers are already closed.
- Only confirm the people named on the invitation.
On a digital invitation, the RSVP is a form on the same link. With parati, guests RSVP without signing up: they enter their first and last name, leave a phone number or an email, and can add their plus-ones, write you a message and suggest a song. You read every RSVP in the “Invitados” (Guests) tab.
